About
Hi, I'm Shun. Born and raised in Japan, I work a regular office job during the week — but on weekends, you'll find me out exploring with my family, camera in hand.
Whether it's a quiet neighborhood spot or a seasonal destination just a short drive away, I'm always on the lookout for places that make everyday life in Japan feel a little more special.
That's what Play Local Japan is all about — the spots locals actually go to, not just the ones in the guidebooks.
Story
Tourist spots are just the starting point.
Kinkaku-ji, Asakusa, Mount Fuji — they're all worth visiting. But the real journey begins when you start walking from there.
What this site is really about is the kind of places locals spend their weekends. Parks where families gather, neighborhood festivals that don't make the guidebooks, diners where the regulars always order the same thing. Those everyday weekend scenes are, I think, what Japan is really made of.Always looking for the next local experience.
